Bury The Dragon In Blood

Posted: April 1, 2013 in Uncategorized

Emerging as the sun breaks the horizon
Eyes peek
Momentary blindness
Evil lurks
Darkness hangs on refusing to relinquish the fight
Broken hearts die on
Beauty so out of reach

Battle for supremacy now ensues
Lance the beast
Flowing blood everywhere
Blood of the beast dragon enriches the soul
Bury you beast as I struggle to survive
Die your deaths

As the beast submerges in blood
I begin to taste the sweet taste
It fills my nostrils ā€“ drowning
My life begins to flash before me

My own fears
My own weakness

I submit
The beast is myself

It is hard to accept that the beast resides within self. Strong visuals and emotions, Mike. Well written. šŸ™‚

I see hints of fantasy and mythology in your poem.

wow what an interesting turn there in the end…the beast being yourself…sometimes best we can hope is to keep pur beast in check you know….great title on this as well…

Ah, we all have our dragons to slay, do we not? With recognition comes bravery….

“What is a man deep down inside?
What a raging beast with nothing to hide.”
