Saltwater Words

Posted: March 19, 2013 in Uncategorized

Poem scrawled in the sand
Barely visible
Washed away by the pounding waves

Crash!

Drawing the words forever into the sea
Erase the creation from this gentle soul

Walking alone I witness the pull
Tugging at my feet
Pulling now deep inside
A well builds
Release tears
Saltwater tracing its way toward my mouth
Down into the ocean drops fall
Following after words no more

I liked reading this. The salt water connection is original.

  2. brian miller says:

evocative piece…the waves wash away much…poems and tears, but it doesnt mean they were not there or still arent out there in the currents…nice piece…

  3. kelly says:

This depicts so well what it’s like to write a poem… Great visuals of the process.

  4. claudia says:

oh nice..really like the words scribbled in the sand and then being drawn into the ocean…so much release in this…

  5. Beth Winter says:

Words scribbled in sand only have permanence in memory. I hope the salt water evaporates and the fresh sand offers new messages. Well done.

  6. Rowan Taw says:

A perfectly concise poem – love the saltwater association.

  7. And saltwater is very healthy– it aborbs negative ions, and, I like to think, any unresolved negative engery as well 🙂 ~peace, Jason
